A CHAMPION'S EXHIBITION. ' A large number attended the New Plymouth Club rooms last evening to witness the exhibition game of billiards by Mr, ,], \V, flcad, champion billjardist of the Dominion. The game was 75Q up, Mr. Head conceding PUP o.f the CUlb members a handicap of 4Q(I, As illustrating the standard of the champion's I I play, it may be mentioned that the I game was played in an hour and a-half, | Head going out in that time with his i opponent's score standing at (123. He paid 31 visits to Hie taiblc. His best breaks during the match were W, 103 and 95, These, scores were put up by gpod, all-round billiards, Head preferring 10 give 8n nll-roiroil demonstration to adhering to. the monotony of the losing hazard or any other sot stroke. Many of his strokes were marvellously clean j and delicate, and hardly any position seemed to be "safe." At the'conclusion j of the game Head gayo a number of trick and fancy strokes tliat were well worth, witnessing.
