VISIT FUOM A CHAMPION. Mr. Joseph W. Head, New Zealand's champion billiardist, is at present in New Plymouth, and has been engaged by the New Plymouth Club to play an exhibition game, at the club-rooms tins evening at 8 o'clock. Mr. Head is a Bradford man, and has been about twelve months in the Dominion. He is at present making a tour of Hie Worth Island prior to his departure for the South Island. From thence he will proceed to Australia and the Old Country. Mr. Read's best break was made on June 2nd, at Wellington, where he put up 480, 255 of which were oil' the red. T.ns constitutes a record break for the Dominion. Read also has a break of 3a2 standing to his credit. He has met and defeated nearly all the best players in the. Dominion, and defeated the Grays, both father and son, when they toured New Zealand. We understand that Mr. ileail has issued a standing challenge to any player in New Zealand for ,Clolt a-s'ide or any part of that amount. Tio .rame to-night will be against a club member, who will receive a start of 400 in a game of 750 up. At the conclusion of the game Mr. Read will give an exhibition of fancy strokes.
