With tiie wet weather all kind of work is getting ue hind, and the roads are in a very bad state. ill*. Archie Thompson, of Puiiiho, had the misfortune to scratch his thumb nail with a rusty horseshoe nail a couple of weeks ago, and it immcuja-iel} turned to 'blood poison. -Mr, Thompson had to seek medical attention, anil is now progressing- slowly. It will b« some time before ne is able to work. Mr. Charles Wells' new house is just about completed, and they will be shifting down into it in the course »1 ft day or two. A meeting of the Warea branch >f the New Zealand Farmers' Union wi'A be held on Monday night, t 2Gth inst. Spring is gutting close, and the farmers who want to get out of the district are holding clearing sales, Mr. T. 11. Julian, on the Warea Road, whose lease ha 9 expired, sells his dairy stock on Wednesday nextj and I have been informed that Mr. McLaclilan holds a clearing sale early in August. Mr. and Mrs. Clothier returned home from their holiday trip on Wednesday, they having been away for some weeks at Hctorna and other parts of the Auckland district. The following is the Puniho cards team to play against Okato on Saturday night for a dinner:—Messrs. M. Hill, Para Ruakere, J. A. Thomas, P. Gibbons. G. Dobbin, W. Webster, W.
