Tallow.—Market firm. Beat mixed to 245, good 21s (id to 22s 9d, inferior 17s to 19s, rough fat iy 2 d to I%<l per lb. Bones £4 15s, cowtails Is 8d per dozen, horsehair 16 fid to Is Bd. ADDINGTON. At Addington yards on Wednesday there was a fairly large entry of stock and a good attendance. The yarding of store sheep was somewhat smaller than was the case last week. Ewes and wethers sold at late rates. A line- of ewe hoggets was exceptionally good, and sold at 15s 3d, and small halfbrai ewe hoggets brought 13s Id. Other lots of ewe hoggets made 12s to 12s 9d, average lines of mixed sexes 9s to 10s, and others 8s to 8s Gd. Low-conditioned wethers brought 10s and upwards, and ewes 12s to 14s. The entry of fat lambs showed a great falling off, only 485 coming forward. Export buyers were not operating, but butchers bought 192 head, the balance being passed in, the price ranging from 9s Id to 14s, a few extra to los 3d. There was again a fairly large yarding of fat sheep, of which ewes formed only a small proportion. Among wethers were many lines of prime quality and heavy weights. Several export buyers were operating, and good competition continued throughout the sale, last week's prices being maintained, and ewes were rather firmer in consequence of the short supply. The range of prices was: Prime wethers 14s 8d to 10a, lighter 12s (id to los; prime ewes 14s to 16s 6d, others 9s lid to 13s 6d; merino wethers 10s Cd to 13s (Id. The yarding of fat cattle totalled 244, the bulk being of good to prime steers. There was only a dull demand, and a number of lines were passed. Prices, however, showed little or no change. Steers made £4 12s Cd to £l2 10s, heifers £5 10s to £7 10s, cows £4 to £7 17s Od—equal to 19s 6d to 21s fid for prime, 18s to 19s for medium, and 14s to 17s for cow and inferior beef per 1001b. For dairy cows there was good demand, and these sold at £3 15s to £8 2s Od, a line of springing heifers making £6 5s to £lO. The yarding of store cattle was a small one, only 13 head coming forward. Most of these were cows, and gold at 25s to £3 10s, and heifers to £4 2s 6d. There was a small yarding of pigs, and the demand consequently showed an improvement. Choppers sold at £3 to £5, heavy baconers 55s to 04s, lighter 47s to 525, large porkers 40s to 445, lighter 35s to 38s, large stores 30s to 3'os, medium 22s to 28s, sows in young up to £0 los.
