The fellow who shouts his patriotism from the housetops is generally the first to dodge his taxes. ', We can all learn a lesson from the busy bee, and thst is not to get stung. Man* a girl with eyes like a dove ha 6 an* appetite like an ostrich. Make hay while the sun shines, and the sun never shines so steadily and bright as when you are young. By the time a girl has reached sixteen her gifts to her mother assume the character of things she would like to borrow. It costs parents a great many pounds annuallv to make lire discovery that their children cap never learn to sing. Every woman believes that she would be better appreciated if her husband ■ had to put up with some other woman ' for a time. About the hardest job a man has is lo eonvince others that he is as good as he thinks he is. ' Any man' can be thankful for what ; he gets, but few of us consider that wo | 'ought to be thankful for what wo don't f ,get. ... .
