Received 23, 10.15 p.m. London, July t& ' A Liberal Commoners' deputation informed Mr. Lloyd-George' that of the two million additional license duty' under the Finance Bill, London would pay £(180,202, while it only paid £195,851 under the old duty amounting 1 to £2,222;000. " Mr. Lloyd-George complained that - the London brewer* refuted to meet him. He waß willing to re-value the London licenses on a basis of the actual trade and tax them accordingly. He took exception to their railing the price of beer before they actually paid the duties in order to influence customers against the Government.
