A MAN HUNT.

A young fellow, who hail been wanted for a fortnight was alleged to have stolen a gramophone. A sergeant and a constable saw liim carrying it and gave chase, but Jost their man" ihey afterwards learned he had goue to Kaiajioi, and the constable went 11 pursuit, but the mail bolted. Detective (iibson traced him to a house in North Avon Road. Four police visited the place at ten (('clock last night, lint were refused admission. Subsequently ; they were admitted, and after a fruitless search of the rooms the person wanted was found crouched on a beam across the skylight. lie tried to escape by the roof, but was caught in the attempt.
