THE RUSH AT OREPUKI

QUIETENING DOWN. | By Telegraph.—Press Association. Jnvcrcargill, Last Night. The rush at Oropuki is quietening down somewhat, so far as pegging oif of claims is concerned, but this is due to tlie fact that there is very little unclaimed ground left on the line of the reef, and also to tlie delays incidental to tlie Warden's Court formalities. Reports come flooding in of prospects here and prospects there, and generally the air is firil of suppressed excitement. Many people on the spot seem to lie imbued with the idea that fortunes arc hovering near at hand. Results of a proper analysis of samples are eagerly awaited.
