METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Metropolitan Committee was held in the secretary's office on Tuesday evening, there being present Mr. C. M. Lcpper (in the chair), Col. Ellis, Messrs. Blundell, Sole, Nolan, L. B. Webster, A. R. Standish, and Weston. It was decided to meet on the third Tuesday; in each month. The following committees were appointed:—Licenses: Messrs. Lcpper, Sole and Standish; country clubs' programmes: Messrs. Nolan, Weston, and Standish.
The programme of the North Taranaki Hunt Club for the annual meeting on September Otli was approved, and the club granted, the right to issue emergency riders' certificates on that date.
The following licenses were granted: —Trainers: H. Brough, O. Cox. J. Fryer, G. 11. Gibson, F. T. Goddard, D. .1. Goodwin, C. Jackson, C. Millen, R, J. Milne, T. C. White, J. George, A. Gilbert, R. Barlow. Jockeys: J. C'lareburt, C. Cochrane, F. J. Flyivn, C. Jackson, it. .1. Milne, R. Gilbert, James Barlow, A. B. Russell. Apprentices: G. H. V. Clarehurt, T. H. Trask. CLUB COMMITTEE. The, same members sitting as the Taranaki Jockey Club's committee met subsequently. The following suli-com-mittees for the ensuing year were appointed: —Course committee —Messrs. Lepper, Nolan, and L. B. Webster; programme committee—Messrs. Lepper, Newton King and Goldwater. The following officers were elected:—Assistant clerk of the scales, Mr. W. C. Weston; clerk of the. course, Mr. J. C. Monteflorc; timekeeper, Mr. F. Stohr: starter for autumn meeting, Mr. C. O'Connor; liandicapper, Mr. G. Morse. Two new members were elected.
