NEW MAIL COACH

Residents along the .Main South Road between New I'lymouth and Opunake will see a line, new mail coach running ( through Lheiir district in the course of " a day or two. Mr. \Y. A. Jury, pro--1 prietor of the line of coaches, lias just shown his determination to meet the public needs by having a thoroughly up-to-date conveyance erected locally, it is rather longer than the conches now running on thu road, and is built on commodious lines, there being plenty of width in the body of the vehicle. The coach is, as the Royal Mail coaches usually are, painted a brilliant red, with wheols and under-carriage in yellow, picked out in brown and line-lined in blue. The body of the coach is scrolled and lined in yellow, and the whole of the painting and lettering is such as would do infinite credit to any city carriage works. It should be a source ot satisfaction to passengers to learn that v the brake is the latest steel mail patent. I the safest brake in use. The body is ( set on platform springs, and the lore"- » carriage is oil the "full lock"' principle, j All the seats, including the drivers' perch, are fitted with springs, the upholstering being done by a modern' American machine, which obviates the use of stitches and thus lengthens the life of the cushions. The driver has a little window, through which he can see the interior of the coach. The coach has inside seating accommodation for twelve passengers comfortably, on upholstered spring seats running along the sides. The new coach is to replace that which runs from here on Tuesdays, and Saturdays, and will be put in commission very shortly. The vehicle has been built by the well-known firm of Messrs. Honnor and Clark, of New Plymouth. Mr. Jury is to be commended on his enterprise, and the builders upon tho excellent workmanship displayed.
