THE HADLEY BORE. Matters' arc looking promising at the Hadley Company's bore on the Carrington road. On Monday afternoon, when drilling at about 2UOO feet through sandstone, the drill suddenly dropped as though into a cavity. The tool was immediately withdrawn. The sand pump was put down, and was brought up full of oil. The well was then closed down pending instructions from Auckland. Tile bore is free from water, and has been for some'time. OIL AND FREEHOLD. The secretary (Mr. Medley) informs ■us that a blow-up occurred in the Taranaki Oil and Freehold Company's bore at Vogcltown on Monday afternoon, and the well was partially filled with silt. He also states that the manager was busy yesterday cleaning out the •bore, the silt being freely mixed with jpctroleum. THE TARANAKI COMPANY. The Taranaki Company is now operating at tile No. 3 bore. The results at No. 2 bore are still keeping up well. The figures for the recent pumping are not available for publication. ..
