HOSPITAL BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Taranaki Hospital and Charitable-Aid Board was held yesterday. Present: Messrs I<\ C. Bcllringer (chairman), G-. W. Browne, W. Harvey, C. Andrews, J. R. Hill, .1. llrown, C. O'SuUivan, and D. 11. McDonald. MEDICAL REPORT. The medical superintendent reported that the number of .patients admitted during June was 28, and 35 were discharged. There was only one death. Operations numbered 25. OLD 'PEOPLE'S HOME. Mrs. M. Fanar reported in rega v J! to the Old People's Home for the month ending July llltli. There had been one admission "fro m Stratford. Three males had departed, and one died. Discipline was good, with the exception of one female, who over-stayed her leave. There- were now in the Home 28 inmates, 23 males and 5 femaics. ACCOUNTS. Accounts were passed for payment: Hospital £520 lis sd; charitable aid,. £llO Is 9d; total. .£O3O 13s 2d. ■APPRECIATION. The Board resolved to forward a vote of thanks to the Fitzroy Fire Brigade for a donation of refreshments sent to the Home after the brigade's annual tall. The secretary was instructed to acknowledge the courtesies extended by the Palmerston North Hospital Board's secretary whilst in that town recently.
