POULTRY SHOW
Over 1000 entries have been received from all classes in connection with the Taranaki Poultry, Pigeon and Canary Society's animal show, to be held in the Drill Hall on Wednesday -and Thursday. The judging will commence at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, the judge, Mr. Johnson, ot Palmcrston North, arriving in New Plymouth to-night. All exhibits for the poultry section must be at the Drill Hail by 10 o'clock to-night. Entries in the canary classes will be received up till 0 a.m. on Wednesday.. At that time every exhibit must be in .the show, with the exception of the children's pets, which will be received at 8 o'clock on Thursday morning. Great interest Is being taken in the map-drawing and brush-work, and sonic excellent specimens have been received. The boys lrom the technical school will give an exhibition of wood-carving, and they will be seen at work. The cookery exhibits from the same school will be both numerj ous and varied. The fanners' butter class has ten entries for the best butter in pats. The children'!* pets will be the feature of the show, there being 20 | cats, 13 dogs, 8 cage-birds, and 3 lambs entered in this class, lit is hoped, as the committee has worked hard to make this year's show comprehensive enough to interest everyone, that the public will I attend the show in large numbers.
