The semi-final of the Auckland Hockey Association's senior grade championship iWrts played to-day, when Unit* t»d beat Grafton by «iine goals to nil, and University and Auckland drew, each side notching a goal. Auckland and United have now 14 points each to their credit, and the final will he played at ftemuera next Saturday. . The Southern tour of the Auckland representative team has now been finally settled. The team will .play Tara7>aki on Saturday, August V, for the championship challenge shield, and leave for the South on Tuesday, August 10. They play Wanganui on Thursday, August 12, Wellington, August 14, Canterbury August 10, Dunedin August 21, Southland (at lnyercargill) August 25, and Manawatu at Palmerston North on ! August 28, returning to Auckland -by the Main Trunk on the morning of Sunday, August 29. Matches cannot ibe played with Nelson and Taranaki owing to the boat arrangements proving un-1 suitable. ! The New Zealand Association has notified the Auckland 'body that no matches, other than the match, will have to be played before the Southern tour is' made, providing that the remaining challengers for the shield are played in September. Acting on this decision, the local Association has set apart the following dates for shield fixtures:—September 4th, Thames; 11th, Wellington; 18th, .Manawatu; and 25th, Hawke's 13ay.
