The going was heavy and the attendance lair. Nineteen bookmakers were licensed and the sum of ,£i9904 passed through the totalisator, against £7758 last year. Results:

St. Bill led throughout and won by a neck. A slashing finish between the placed horses, heads only separating tliein. Wirral led for a linie and a quarter, where Rendrock took charge and won easily by six lengths, with two lengths between second and third.
