| WELLINGTON WINTER MJiETING. ' FIRST DAY'S RESULTS. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Wellington July is. The Wellington winter meeting opened in fine weather. The going was heavy and the attendance lair. Nineteen bookmakers were licensed and the sum of ,£i9904 passed through the totalisator, against £7758 last year. Results:

St. Bill led throughout and won by a neck.
