CRUELTY TO CHINESE
CHARGES AGAINST GERMAN PLANTERS. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Received July 17, 1.5 a.m. Sydney, July 16. The Chinese Commissioners, who visited Samoa to inquire into charges of cruelty to Chinese by the German planters, state that the reports were substantially correct. A petition has Dean sent to the Chinese Consul-General for Australia requesting him to communicate with the Viceroy at Canton and ask for the protection of the Chinese in Samoa.
