LloydGeorge, Chancellor oi the Exchequer, promised to relieve from the new taxes all purely agricultural laud, unless the value passes into another category sueli ' as building; also to exempt holdings under the value of £SOO. LAND TRANSFER REGISTRATION Received 15, 10.40 p.m. London, July 15. During the Budget debate in th.' House oi Commons, Mr. Lloyd-George (Chancellor of the Exchequer) accepted Mr. Dickinson's amendment that particulars should be supplied in every ease of land transfer, whether or not duty was due, and thus give the country an up-to-date land register. Mr. Balfour, tfmid Laborite interruptions, strenuously protested against the new turn of affairs, namely, the transformation of the Bill into a measure ot compulsory registration of titles. He defied any constitutional lawyer to say the bringing about of such a change by an amendment was legitimate. Mr. Lloyd-George replied that the conveyances and leases were already under cognisance at Somerset Houso and that it would only be necessary in future to add a few particulars. Mr. Dieldns'on'ri amendment was carried by 218 to 101.
