. INCITING ASSAULT. , By Telegraph.—Press Association. , tTimaru, July 14. The Magistrate (Mr. Day) gave judg f ment this morning in the case Patrick ] Gonnley v. Joseph Matthews, a claim i for £2OO damages, caused by defendant t having incited the Chisholm brothers (now serving sentences for imprison- j ment) to assault plaintiff. Judgment Was given for plaintiff for £IOO and i eosts £l2 9s. The Magistrate expressed t the opinion that Matthews, who swore i ■i both the: Supreme and Magistrate's: f Courts that no assault took place, should 1< prosecuted for perjury. t
