DEEP LEVEL MINING.
SHAREHOLDERS CONCERNED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ' Palmerston N., July 13. Holders of mining stocks here c<e greatly concerned over the Thames deep levels scheme, for which the Government voted a subsidy of £SOOO. The Standard to-night pointß out that the shares of the companies interested 'a the scheme have risen in value during the last few weeks by some £37,000, showing clearly that the confidence of the public is sufficient to enable them to raise a very much larger sum if required, and that the shares should certainly see a further rise in value directly the low level work is commenced. It is held that money required for t'ne scheme could be Teadily obtained from the shareholders, and that the companies should proceed at once with the work.
