At the Police Court this morning seven persons were charged tiiat having paid fares to tiio railway from Dunedin to Burnside tliey did not quit the carriage on arriving at their destination but went on to Abbotsford, a mile further oil. Tile Department having reason to suspect that the practice was being carried on, a special check was made, with the result that several people were found overriding their destination. All the seven charged pleaded guilty. Two were lined and the other cases were adjourned for evidence.
