Mi Received 10, 1 a.m. London, July ,!). IBiifnor Oiolitti (iPreinicr of Italy), speaking in the Chamber of Deputies, stated Ihnt the Italian Lloyd's must abide by the result of the forthcoming public tender.
Signor Colazanni, a Republican, argued that if Signor Nazi (nn ex-Minister who was last year convicted and imprisoned for malfeasance) was prosecuted for appriating a few tilings there was much greater 1 reason for the prosecution of Deputies, Senators and Ministers who 'had been responsible for the granting of shipping subsidies. This declaration . evoked strong protests, and Si'gnor Schanzer, Minister for Posts nii Telegraphs, rushing across the Chamber, struck Signor Colazanni. Friends crowded round and pulled the Minister back, but he made renewed efforts to assault the Deputy. Finally Signor Schnnzer was persuaded to desist. The uproar led to the adjournment of the discussion on a Bill settling tthc subsidies payable to the Italian Lloyd Company. Tliese amount to £700,000, or nearly as much again as in former subvention.
