JERSEY CATTLE. The attention of Jersey breeders and fanciers, and dairy farmers generally, is directed to the important unreserved sale to be held on account of Mr. Thos. Linn, at Mangatoki, on '.Omrsday nest, loth inst. Mr. Linn is recognised as a very keen judge of dairy cattle, anil being an enthusiast with regard to the Jersey breed, has, l>y careful selection and breeding, got together one of the choicest herds in the Xortli Island, cniarkable both for their success in fee show ring and for their heavy and consistent milking qualities. In support of the latter it may be stated that during the month of January, 1008 (which is admitted to have been the , driest month ever experienced in Taranaki), the weight of milk supplied from 02 cows was 48,785 lbs, of the value of £IOB 10s 7d, while the highest test at the Mangatoki Dairy Factory has been secured by Mr. Linn every year for tinlast four years. In the purchase of pedigree cattle Mr. Linn has invariably paid lop prices for the very best obtainable, ami has hud the honor of securing no less than 20 first and second prizes at the principal shows of the North Island. The herd includes so many high-grade animals that it would be invidious to sort out any for special mention, beyond stating that the miiguHicent champion bull " Bullfinch" is at the head of the herd. Anyone interested cannot do better than apply to Mr. Newton King for a catalogue' containing extended pedigrees and full particulars of the sale, which will commence at 12.110 o'clock- sharp. Every pedigree animal is guaranteed to be either registered or eligible for the New Zealand Herd Book, and tile whole lieril will be sold absolutely to the highest bidder, Mr. Linn having leased his farm for five years. Intending havers should not? that free brakes will'leave the Kltliam railway station on arrival of the morn-1 ing trains, and. if required, the vendor I will place stock on trucks at Eltnam free of charge.
POULTRY SOCIETY. A final reminder is given that the entries close for the Poultry Society's show at 10 p.m. to-day. Entries may'be left at Mr. Rowe's, Brougham Street, with Mr. Ifobbs, the secretary, Devon Street West, or Mr. Cattlev's'tailoring shop from li p.m. till 10 p.m. Entries for the home industries, children's pets, and technical class will close with the secretary om Monday.
