The management committee of the Nuw Zealand Rugby Union to-night decided to inform the Nelson Union that if a person who acted as gatekeeper played football he would become a professional, hut eould apply for reinstatement as an amateur. In reference to the alterations in the laws of the game by the Auckland Union, it was decided that the referee' decision must <be given in accordance with the laws of the game. it was jesolved to inform the Auckland Unioty that the Xew Zealand Union understood the games there were not being played in accordance with the laws', and pointing out that no affiliated union had power to do this. The Hawke's Bay Union is to be asked for evidence concerning the five years' disqualification of two players for using had language to a referee. "Hawke's Bay's application for removal of disqualification of five years imposed on a native two years ago for -bad language and inciting to rough play was refused.
Evidence is to be sought from Bullor in reference to two disqualifications. Tiie Otago Union's disqualification of notified that the day provisionally fixed for the inter-Island match (August 21) did not clash with their arrangements. The Otago Unions' disqualification of i a Zingari player for striking other playI ers was made general. I F. T. Evans resigned from the South I Island selection committee. S. Wilson was appointed in his' stead. .
