LONDON MARKETS. .xindoa, July 7. Wool. —There was a good sale, owning rates being fully maintained, witu spirited competition for good wools. The shabbier sort was rather slow or sale. Tallow Sales—lß7o casks were offered and 753 sold low. Memuw aavaaceu lid, I, L. A. NOLAN & CO.'S REPORT. •Poultry.—Owing to the inclemency of the weather, we had only a fair entry. There was a predominance of purebred's, and prices throughout were high. We quote: Hens, ordinary Is Ud to 2s 3d, purebred 2s 3d to 3s (id; pullets, ordinary U 7d to 2s 4d, purebred 3s 6d to 4s !)d; cockerels, ordinary Is IM to 2s Id, j purebred 2s 9d to 5s 3d; roosters Is 7d, ducks Is Gd. I In the mart we quitted the usual aiic- ' tion lines and a quantity ol household furniture. Fruit.—Several consignments of apples have come to hand from Nelson and Hawkcs Bay. These, being of good quality, sold well. Apples, local, inferior, bushels, 5s 3d to 5s Gd, Hawke's Bay, .bushel dessert, 8s; Nelson Epps' Seedlings (second) 6s, Sturmere 8s to 8s 9d. A consignment of Hawke's Bay kumeras opened up badly, and consequently sold at low l rates. I LONDON DAIRY REPORT. Messrs. J3. Griffiths aniTCo. are in receipt of the following butter market report from their London principals, Messrs. Mills and Sparrow, dated 28th May, 1000: During the past few days we have had some heavy rains, but unless these continue for a short time longer the benefits will only be temporary BUTTER. Danish. Quotation has -been reduced 3 kroners (3s Gd). Siberian.—Quantity is still small, ,but quality this week is in many casesl unsatisfactory, and we cannot expect any improvement now until we get the full grass. Prices are down 3s to 4s on the week. French.—Prices are unaltered at time of writing. There have been thunderstorms in Normandy, but much more' rain as necessary both in Normandy and Brittany if the make is' to become * normal; at present it is short. I 'Australian. The s.s. Mongolia arrived with 4500 boxes on board, and these have landed in good order. Buyers \ are holding off at th'c moment, as the j rains all over the country have altered s the position' very materially. New Zealand.'—The s.s. Paparoa is now in dock, but it is not expected that any of her butters will b e available until after the holidays. CHEESE. Canadian. Quotations' are 60mewhat easier, and the make is rapidly increasing. A'en- Zealand.—All landed stocks are practically cleared up close, and we look for a good demand immediately the Paparoa shipment is landed. LOCAL MARKETS.
