Christchurch, Last Night. ■Mr. Laurcuson, Jl.il>., was seen by a icporter with regard to the statements made in evidence bv ex-Detective Connell before the Police Commission at Invercargill reflecting on Mr. Laurens'on, and asked if he would make a statement for publication. Mr. Laurenson said: -In view of the allegations made, I wi 1 take an early opportunity of <-o----mg before the Commission and givin" evidence. The allegations are of a monstrous character, and I think I shall Invrcargill rflccting on Mr. Laurcuson, at the proper time." Asked if he would go into particulars at present, Mr Laurcuson said that lie did not desire to do so. llie matters referred to had taken Place some lime ago, and lie would require to look up details before he said anything on the subject.
