A CONSTABLE STABBED

WHILST ARRESTING A DRUNK. ~ By Telegraph.—Press Association. I Dunedin, Last Night. Constable Daubney, stationed at .Woodhaugh, was staibbed both above And below the left ear to-uight when arresting a man named Michael Coleman on a charge of drunkenness and using obscene language. The temporal artery pras severed and the constable lost a quantity of Wood before a doctor arrived. The constable's son, Fred Daubney, arrived on the scene as his father was staggering away and seized and held Coleman till assistance arrived. A large clasp knife has' been found where 'the affray took place.
