ALLEGED NEGLIGENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. I . Napier, Last Night. In the Supreme Court to-day, before Mr. Justice Chapman and a special jury of twelve, the hearing was concluded of a case in which William Henry Lean, of Hastings, commission agent, sued Dr. Thomas McKibbon, of that town, for £ 1000 damages for alleged negligence in the treatment of plaintiff's wife, who had died from puerperal septicaemia after confinement. Witnesses included a number of medical men. s Defendant said he had bad 03 confinement cases in the year 1903, and only one death, which was the subject of the present action. Three other doctors who were called for the defence said that defendant's treatment of the case was* correct. The v jury, after 15 minutes' retirement, returned a verdict for defendant.

His Honor entered up judgment for defendant accordingly, with costs.
