ROBBERY FROM A WARSHIP
SAILORS SENTENCED. London, July 1. A sentence of five years' penal serviI tude was passed on William Tomey, petty officer, on a charge of stealing iroin H.M.S. Indomitable. Alston, a leading seaman, and Ethel Staples, a married woman, were sentenced to twelve months' imprisonment and three months' Imprisonment respectively on charges of receiving stolen properti". Notes and gold valued at £5200 wcro stolen from the Treasury of H.MA indomitable last February, when she wa« anchored at Sheerness. Last April a. cable stated that four men, including a petty officer, possessing a burglar's outfit, were remanded on a charge of theft from the vessel.
