Received July 2, 10.60 p.m. London, July 2. The assassin had a card bearing the name "Dhinagri," the address ueing, Bayswater, D. Thorburn, who witnessed the affair, made the following statement to the Daily Mail's representative:— '•The square landing between t!ie hall and the staircase was used as a smoking room. Here I saw Sir William Wyllie ' apparently conversing with ii student wearing a pale blue turliun. The latter drew a revolver and tired four shot* rapidly into Sir William Wyllie's head. The muzzle was near his face when the assassin fired a fifth shot at him. As he fell he tired a sixth. This struck Dr. Lalcaca, who was three yards distant, in the breast. I rushed at the assassin, and unothor made a spring. We seized the assassin, who struggled and wrested one hand free. With this he placed the revolver at nis own head and pulled the trigger, which clicked Uuirmlesaly. A crowd soon gathered. A doctor pronounced Sir William Wyllie dead.
