A match is to be Hied on Saturday between teams representing Rahotu and Warea. ■- Another of the series of euchre parties in aid of the K.iH Fund was held on Wednesday evening. It is reported that Mr. J. J. Billings has sold his farm on the Ngariki road, A football match was played here on Saturday afternoon between teams of Maoris' representing Rahotu on the one side and Puniho and Parihaka on the other side. A close game, interspersed with occasional Hashes of .scientific play, resulted iu a win for Rahotu by (i points to 5 points. For the winners Ririkom and J. Martin scored tries, neither of which was converted, whilst Moru for the losers' scored a try, which 11. Martin converted. Matthew made a capable referee. A combined team is to be picked to play Opunakc Maoris on Saturday next.
Although tenders for the Rahotu Post Office contract closed some days ago, we have not yet heard the name of the suflcessful tenderer. The general impression here is that the lowest fender will not be within £IOO of the amount on the estimates, namely, £SOO. ■Mr. Grayling, the successful tenderer for the erection of the main cheese factory for the Oaonui Dairy Company and also for the Arawhata and Kahui subfactories, was at Raliotti on Wednesday making arrailgements in connection with the work. On Wednesday, 30th June, Mr. Wm. Morrow, of Italiotu., was .married to Miss Riioda Hopkins.\of Tipoka road. The Rev. Mr. Adtlen'brooke ollieiatcd. After the ceremony the young couple left for New Plymouth en route for their future home in the Waikato. A euchre match is being arranged between Oaonui and Rahotu players.
