Nolan and Co. report for the week ending June 30th, 1000: Poultry—On Saturday we had a failentry of good quality birds, all of which realised good prices.'. We quote: —Hens (ordinary) Is ad to 2s, do. (purebred) 2s to 2s lid. pullets 2s.to 2» 3d, special 2s l)d and 3s, cockerels Is oil to 2s ,ld, roosters 2s to 3s, ducks Is (id to Is lOd; no turkeys offering. In the mart we bad a good attendance and a large quantity of furniture and sundries was disposed of. Fruit.—This has been iu small supply. Prices show a slight improvement. \Ve quote: Apples, Framptons lis lid to 7s, Epps' ..Seedlings 7s to 8s 3d, small cast's various -3s to 3s Od. Island consignments are due next week. On Wednesday we offered a number of education leases. A full report of the sale has already appeared.
WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Mart.—On Saturday we had a fair entry of poultry, and bidding in consequence was spirited, pullets still being in demand. Prices: Hens (old) Is -Id to Is (id, good young Is !)d, 2s, pullets (laving) 2s lid to lis, fair 2s to 2s od, poor Is Od to 2s, cockerels (poor) Is (id to 2s, good 2s 3d to 2s id, roosters Is 4d, Is 7d; ducks 2s Id, 2s (id; turkey gobblers (.poor) 4s?4s Od. Fancy goods and general auction lines sold at prices in favor of buyers. Omatu.—At the yards on Friday we and a big yarding and nearly every lot changed hands at advanced prices, as under:—Mixed weaners 21s to 22s' (id, 2-year heifers ill calf 3lis to 43s (id, springing heifers £4 2s (id, springing cows (guaranteed), £4 to £B, store cows £2 Ills to £2 10s, forward do. £3 to £3 7». Clearing sale.—At Kent road on Tuesday we held our lirst clearing sale, on account of Mr. Claud Roberts, who has sold his farm and is going to Tauranga. There was an exceptionally large number present and good prices were realised.
