Bates' generat weather forecast:—Westerly gale, probable north of Xew Pymouth and Xa- ' Jjicr; south-westerly "elsewhere soon. Rain is probable generally, and heavv on the East Coast of the South Island, with snow jnlaml, and rain and southerly wind extending to East Cape after 16 hours. Barometer will rise fast everywhere, and much colder weather is expected.
