The Be Burgh Adams orchestra was in attendance. The well-sinking on Messrs Borthwick's canning works property has so far met with very little success, only a depth of 8:2 feet having been obtained. Mr. and Mrs. Young, of the Waitara Hotel, entertained a number of footballers on Thursday evening to supper. An enjoyable time was spent, toasts being proposed and honored and songs rendered.

An afternoon was given on Thursday in connection with the Anglican Church. The prizes give for a competition in eleinentarv anatomy were won by Mrs. Haseler and Mrs.' Vaughan. £ongs were sung by Mrs. W. H. Xoswort-hy and Miss Gilbert.
