WAIXAKA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Another pleasant evening took plac last Tuesday evening, w : hen the Bow. ing Club held a progressive cuehr party. About seventy people were pre sent. The pripes were won by Mrs. J: Wyllie and Miss E. Pimlie. A danc concluded tluj evening, the music bein, supplied bv Mesdtuues Prosser, Scully Passau. Xosworthy and Miss Katteii bury. On Tuesday evening the Masom Lodge held its installation of the W.Ai elect, and the investiture of officers, a follows:—W.M. liro. T. (J. , Colson I.P.M. liro. \\\ T. Joll, H.W. 'liro. 11 .toll, J.W. The Kgmont Ngnmotu, l)e Burgh Adams ami Strat ford lodges were well represented After the labors of the-evening weri ended the brethren adjourned to tin .Foresters' Ilall, whene a coid coiiatior awaited them. The Be Burgh Adams orchestra was in attendance. The well-sinking on Messrs Borthwick's canning works property has so far met with very little success, only a depth of 8:2 feet having been obtained. Mr. and Mrs. Young, of the Waitara Hotel, entertained a number of footballers on Thursday evening to supper. An enjoyable time was spent, toasts being proposed and honored and songs rendered.
An afternoon was given on Thursday in connection with the Anglican Church. The prizes give for a competition in eleinentarv anatomy were won by Mrs. Haseler and Mrs.' Vaughan. £ongs were sung by Mrs. W. H. Xoswort-hy and Miss Gilbert.
