THE PROFESSIONALS IX AUSTRALIA Received June 27, 5 p.m. Sydney, June 27. Australia beat tile New Zealand professionals by 10 points to 5. SOUTHERN DIVISION. (Special to "News"). Patea, Saturday Night. Kaponga seniors beat Patea seniors by 0 points (three tries) to nil. Patea thirds beat Okaiawa thirds by 17 points to nil. Hawera and Waimate played a drawn game, 3 points each. In the Sole Cup competitions on Saturday the Guards' team beat Rovers by (i points (two tries) to nil. Civil Service and Warehousemen played a drawn game, sio score being registered on either side. The Stratford Football Club (in committee) on Friday night opened an enquiry into the conduct of a member chosen in Die Slrntford-Tukapa match on Thursday. The proceedings were eventually postponed until Monday night, says the Post. At a meeting of the management committee of the Taranaki Rugby Union correspondence was received from the Eltham Football Club regarding a certain line umpire, and asking the Union to inquire into bis conduct. The Referees' Association is to be asked to appoint its own referees. Several players were either suspended or reprimanded for unfair play. Otago Union is to oe informed that the_ Taranaki representatives are not touring tue South Island this winter.
