ADDINGTOX.
At the Addington yards on Wednesday there was a good' yarding of stock, but the attendance was not so large as usual on account of the change in the weather. Fat cattle were dull of sale, with no change in,prices. Store sheep sold up to last week's rates, as'did fat lambs. I'igs sold irregularly. The yarding of store sheep was a small one, and was chielly composed of hoggets, including an especially good line of three.quurterbreds which failed to reach the vendor's reserve. Average lines of hoggets, which were mostly wethers, made !ls to Ids, and small halfbreds 8s Od to lis Id; forward wethers were in good demand at late rates. Very forward threo-quarterbrcd wethers sold at 12s lid, and halfbreds of the same draft 12s. A few lots of ewes sold at usual rates. The entry of fat lambs totalled 4008, or about 1000 more than the previous week. There was good competition for export, and late rates were (irmly maintained. Tegs sold at 14s 3d to 15s 7d, average freezing 'weights 12s Od to 14s, and light and unfinished lis to 12s. There was an entry of 340 head of fat cattle, which was much 'below last week's total. The quality wis good, there being a considerable pro- i portion of large steers. The sale was dull, but prices were about on a level with those of last week. . Steers made ( £0 5s -to £9 12s Od, heifers £5 to £7 1 17s Od, and cows £4 to £0 17 s Od-- , equal to 20s to 22s for prime, 18s Od (o 10s Od for medium, and 17s to 18s for cow and inferior per 1001b. There was agato a large entry of fat sheep, including lines of freezing wethers. The fact that ewes were sold under a guarantee of being free from lamb and that_ there was not such a large proportion in entry caused a rise of Is per head, iwliich was maintained throughout the sale. The improvement in the mutton market at Home induced keener competition among some of the export buyers fo r wethers, and these also advanced Is per head on last week's rates. The range of prices was: Prime wethers los to 17s 4d, lighter 13s to 14s 9d, prime ewes 12s to 14s Od, extra to 15s, medium Os Od to lis 6d, and aged slight' 7s to 9s. I
