AUSTRALIA v. YORKSHIRE. London, June 23. The match at Bradford between Yorkshire and Australia had to be abandoned. The Home team in its first innings' made 299 and the Australians replied with 78 for the loss of three wickets. Three thousand spectators witnessed the play. The scores are as follow; Maealister, c Meyers, b Hirst .. 0 Bardsley, J>. Rhodes .. .. .. 5 Noble, c Eotheray, 'b Rhodes .. 27 Ransford, not out G2 Armstrong, not out 12 Sundries 12
Total for three wickets .. 78 Bowling analysis.—Rhodes, two wickets for 45 runs; Hirst, one for ID; Ifaigh, none for 12. The weather at the resumption of play was breezy and sunny,, and the wicket was drying. ■ Hirst opened the attack, and Macalister playing forward placed the second hall into Myers' hands at short-leg. —One for nil. Rhodes removed Bardslcy's leg stump at 12, and Noble was dismissed with a running catch at long-oil'. The third wicket fell at 40. Rans'ford played a vigorous and resourceful (>anic, which was marred by two chances. He was missed at the wicket by Hunter when his score was 4 and .by liadclilTe at mill-on at IU. At 2 o'clock rain stooped the play, and, continuing, caused the abandonment of tire match.
