THE PRIZE LIST. j The following is the prize-list oi the competitions held by West's pictures. The subject of the essays was the Danish margarine industry, and the prizes have bceu awarded to the pupils giving the best idea of the industry as conveyed by West's Pictures. For scholars of any school under tlic age of 11 years, boy or girl. First, second and third prizes. 1. Eveline Coad, 0 years 1 months (West End). 2. Alister Mciiardy, 8 years (New Plymouth Convent). 3. Arthur Jones, 10 years (New Plymouth Convent).
Commended: Charlie Lawn, 10 -years, and Alice McArthur, 10 years, (Central).
For scholars of any school, over the age of 11 years, boy or girl. First, second, and third prizes. 1. Kathleen Tobin, IS years 1 month (New Plymouth High School). 2. John Grey, 14 years 11 months (New Plymouth High School). 3. Margaret Corkill, 14 years 5 months (Central). Commended: Joyce Wilson, 11 years 9 months (West End); Mona Corkill, 12 years 10 months, and Clarice Herbert, 13 years 9 months (Central); juadge Jury, 13 years 4 months; Mossom Hempton, 13 years 10 montiis, and Ken Jury, 12 years 1 month (West End).
One special prize (girls) for best handwriting and composition combined. 1. Joyce Wilson, 11 years 9 months (West End). 2. Clarice Herbert, 13 years 9 months ; (Central)..
