TARANAKI METROPOLITAN COMMITTEE. , A meeting of tiie Metropolitan Committee was held at the office of the secretary, Mr. E. P. Webster, on Tuesday. Present: Messrs. Lepper (in tin* chair), Weston, Solo, Stanaisn, nlundell, Ellis and Hempton. Correspondence was received from the AAanganui Jockey Club re the appointmeiit of stipendiary stewards, and from the Egmont Racing Club re lorleit list. Mr. J. .Melville wrote with reference to the Manaia Hack Racing meeting, it "Was decided to refer -Mr. .Melville to the Manaia Club, requesting that the question of nominations of tiie hurse 'l'auliara to be dealt with by that club.
TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. A meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club was held .subsequently. It was decided that the Autumn meeting should take place on either February lli and 17 or February 23 anil 24. Final decision on the question was held over. Mr. A. dill's resignation as ,a member of the committee was accepted. The annual meeting or the club will take place at the secretary's office oil July-19.' The acceptance of Mr. Cliff's tender for the erection of a steward's stand, etc., was confirmed. Accounts amounting to £3 18s were passed for'payment.
