Ihe feeling was not antagonistic to the selection made by the Association, but it was thought thev could select a team in Otago and Southland that would be a credit to the province. Ihe cost was computed at about £3OO. After discussion the meeting a,as adjourned to ascertain whether the leading la or 20 shots in Otago and Southland could go and whether tiie men selected would be competent to compete in all matches, including the Empire match, and whether they could have the sanction of the New Zealand Dv fence Association.
