Before the Newcastle Colliers' Hoard' counsel for the proprietors - ,appiyinglor one bonrd in place of many wages, boards, stated Newcastle was losing;, much of it«' coal trade owing to thei industrial turmoil, instancing a contract of 11 million tons being lost through thiscause. Japan, ton, had secured an order for 110,0110 tons which always, previously, come to Newcastle, and much; of the trade with South America had. fallen off.
