Mr. Wesley Spragg, president of the Alliance, occupied the chair anil briefly welcomed all those present, lie congratulated the temperance party on the progress made during (he last ihrce years, and asked one and all to assist in making the convention the most important yet held.

For the whole Dominion the majority lor nolicense was 33,131 —one of tile most gratifying features of the elections, and one which has greatly impressed the whole people. The report made mention I of the visit of Rev. R. B. Hanmioml. of Sydney; of Rev. H. P. Palmer. Mrs. Harrison Lee, Miss Hughes, anil Mr. Brunt- | nell, and nil who helped on the cause by ■ delivering lectures in all parts of the | Dominion. Temperance instruction in schools wa> then slightly referred to. The report then dealt very strongly with the issue of wholesale licenses in tile King Country, and concluded with a clause relating to the reduction issue.
