A PECULIAR CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Fcilding, Friday. The case Tn which W. Clarkson sued A. Porter for £IOO, p.n. in part payment of a motor car, was concluded last night. The defence was that defendant was drunk when he signed the hill and therefore was not responsible. After a lengthy hearing the .Magistrate decided that Porter was not drunk and judgment was giveii for plaintiff.
AN ACTOR'S CLAIM. Wellington. Last Night. E. B. Russell, actor, sued Allan Hamilton to-day for £IOO for alleged .wrongful dismrss'al from the theatrical company now at the Wellington Opera House. The defence was that plaintiff was dismissed for druukc-incss durinc a recent performance of "Tn the Ranks" 1 huntiir emphatically denied this'. Judgment was given for defendant with costs.
