The Rimu arrived from Onclmngtf and Kawhia atari midnight on Wednesday, and sailed for Opunake and Wangaimi after landing a. few passengers and a little cargo. The Alexander arrived from Westport yerterday morning with 400 tons of coal. She left on her return trip after discharging. • Yesterday morning the collier Pctoae arrived from Greymouth with 370 ton* of eoai for the Railway Department. She left for Greymouth last evening. The Rosamond brought 70 tons of cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning, including 80 sacks and lofi fifties of flour, 325 bags of sugar, 400 sacks of cement, 128 cases of fruit, and 20 sacks of oysters. Captain Aldwell comes: to New Plymouth to-day to take charge of the Tatepiina. Captain McXpan goes south for orders. The New Zealand Herald says that the recent mishap to the Northern steamer Rarawa was mo.-e serious that was at first thought f'o he the case, and it will be some time n<fore the vessel is again ready resume her running between Onejinnga and New Plymouth.
