ME. XESBITT DEFEATED. rfydneny, June 10. Deputy Grand Master .Montgomerie Hamilton was elected Grand Master of the Miisons, receiving 500 votes to Mr. XwliiUK 1111. When Lord ■Chelnislford became Governor it suggested he fdiouid receive the position of Grand Mister, but Mr. Xc-bitt (town clerk) insisted bo had a prior claim and informed Lord (Ticlin-'ford to limit circuit. • The latter did not reply to the letter, but sent it to the Crand I/nlgc. Subsequently the Governor complied with the request o( a deputation to allow himself to be nominated, but later withdrew hvs name. Mr. Hamilton was therefore nominated to oppose Mr. Xe-bitt.
