'At the Police Court, tlliis afternoon M'ihlam Warner was charged, on the information of his wife, with liaving failed to obey an order of the Court to pay the sum of 10s a week towards her Mippor.t. The arrears not paid amounted to £2O. Til? defence made an application for a variation, suspension or cancellation of the order, on the grounds Of the wife's wasteful and intemperate lialjits and her misconduct, After evidence had been given his Worship ordered defendant to continue the payment of 10s a. week to his' wife and lined him I 0„ for neglecting to comply with the order.
A rather dramatic interlude occurred when the Magistrate remarked that intil defendant divorced his wife he was of opinion that the amount for maintenance must die ,paid.
