' KENT KOAD. (From Our Own Con-esponilent.) The general topic tore lately has been the feeding of cows on turnips. The directors of our local factory have prohibited the feeding of .turnips to the milch cows. In past years the company lias allowed this, so that many farmers have provided only 'these crops. Now these farmers aire placed in an awtavard position. It ee-rtainly would have shown consideration for the suppliers if tin 1 company hiul <tdvi--oil them earlier, so'thai other crops could have been provided for the winter fodder.
'1 'am pleased to report, that Mr. Joe Houlalran is recovering from his accident . under the splendid treatment In the New Plymouth Hospital. His fellow settlers will all .be pleased to see him about again. These sudden accidents remind one again of the urgent need there is' for a telephone in this district. ■ The Band of Hope held its meeting in the Korito echool last Thursday nigh/t. Mr. 0. Warren .presided. A long and varied programme was appreciated by an attentive audience. There is to be a concert and coffee suprper on the lfttlr instant in the Kent school. The •proceeds' of t/he function will go towards the fund for the improvement of the school grounds.
