The Wellington Town H'ali was well 1 filled this evening, when the finals for the provincial amateur boxing championships were concluded. His Excellency the Governor alnd officers of two warships in port attended. The sport was. excellent in every way and the .best ord'er prevailed. Dr. Napier McLean 'was referee. The following won the ehiampionshipls:— Featilfcrwefgh'tte: L. Porter (Wellington). Cadrnte fougtot him three rounds' with a. damaged 'hand. Bantams: W. F. Wenand "(Wellington). Lightweights: W. Da'vis (WelffiigTon) ■was given the championship, McFarland, wh)o was to luavp met hi'm, having sustained a. diimaged liamd in his heat. Welter: 0. Fanereil (Petone.) Heavyweight: W. Rudd (Wellington).
