In the Magistrate's Court ta-<|ay, Peter Williamson Tait was committed for trial 011 a charge of assaulting Davul M'Call and Martha Munday ill a boardin,, house on May 28. Tait and M'Call ouarrelled about a letter the fonner had given the latter to deliver. Tait called M'Call names, whereupon M Uil struck Tait, who, it is alleged stuli;bed i M'Call several times with a knife. Mrs. Munday, landlady, in attempting to separate the men, was stabbed 011 tin. I leic Accused pleaded not guilty.
