RAILWAY DUPLICATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association, Chriatchurch, Last Xight. Tlie duplication of the railway line between Addington and Rolleston hasbeen completed, and the double track was brought into use on Monday. A good •leal of work has had to be undertake,! in connection with the erection of new signal boxes to meet the demand of the new service, irad there is still a. little " finishing off" work to be done, but all the necessary appliances for the working of the lines have been installed,, and the Railway Department's officers have had no difficulty in hnndling the; traffic under the new conditions.

THEATRICAL ENTERPRISE, Wellington, Wednesday. The Royal Picture Syndicate,, lessee* of His Majesty's Theatre, intend building a new theatre 011 their mte In Courtraay Place to accommodate 1500 people. Provision will be made for the erection of a gallery in future to seat an additional 550. The theatre win be the largest in the Dominion. The step* will be 70 foot wide and 55 deep, and the building is to be built of briek. It will lie of fireproof construction, designed in the modern renaissance style, and handsomely upholstered. The coat is estimated nt i' 22,500. The new theatre is to open in March, 1810.
