: ' ; , MEMORIAL BEDS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. \ : Wellington, Last Night. A meeting of women interested in the Penguin stewardesses' memorial was held this afternoon. The chairwoman (Mrs. J.'V. Luke) said the subscriptions • totalled a little oyer £BB. It had bven ' 1 the object of the promoters to found and ■nainfai.l a bed'in Wellington hospital, tut Hie funds would not permit of this. ■ - It was decided that the money be equally divided between the Home of Compassion, Salvation Armv Home, Levin Memorial Home, and St. Marys CMldren's Home. This will ensure a bed 'at any tirao for the children of | stewardesses or seamen, who will be riven preference before otners. Above each ted it is proposed to hang a tablet getting forth that the beds are in memory of the late Mrs. Hope and Sirs. Jacobs.
